10:50pm: D Obsession

thanks to jrock_scans community

I don't even know where to begin. For two weeks straight now, I've been uberly obsessing over D, a visual-kei band that you might not have heard of but need to try. D is comprised of resident vampire Asagi doing the wonderful vocals and writing very beautiful and moving lyrics; Ruiza and Hide-Zou on guitar; Tsunehito leading with nice bass lines and Hiroki on the drums! They've been releasing albums and singles since 2003 and last year and this year have been very good years for the band. They've been in a lot of magazines including Mad Tea Party. Anyway, I've known about D since about late 2005 and with the help of a friends, got my hands on a two of their albums early in 2006. Then for a long time, it was deadly quiet (for me) because I couldn't find anything on the net and searching for them is utterly fruitless and tiring (try typing D into Google ><). So at last, last week while playing on YouTube I saw my first D PV, SLEEPER (which I suggest everyone go and watch now!) and I've been on a roll since. The net now has some D related stuff on there and by some miracle, I came upon their discography!!! So after two days of waiting for that to download, downloading the Tafel Anatomie Live Tour and today getting the Tafel Anatomie Album and Asagi's solo single, Corvinus, the D obsessionness continues. *fan girls*

So I think I'll plug now. GO FIND D. D IS GOOD. D IS GREAT. YOU NEED D! GO WATCH SLEEPER AND YAMI YORI KURAI DOUKOKU NO A CAPELLA TO BARA YORI AKAI JOUNETSU NO ARIA on YOUTUBE! DOWNLOAD TAFEL ANATOMIE and NAME OF THE ROSE 2006 for starters! Finally. RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT D!!! XD

Honestly, it's a wonderful band. The visuals and lyrics are compelling, gothic and romantic. Asagi's voice has excellent range and can be quite heavenly. Ruiza and Hide-Zou respectively are awesomenisty on the guitar. Tsunehito is a great bassist and Hiroki was born to play the drums. I don't know what else to say. I've been head-over-heals for this band for nearly three years and I dare say, when I start thinking that they can rival well established bands and singers like Gackt and L'Arc~en~Ciel *dodges the large items being thrown by fan-girls* then there must be something special about that group, ne? Honestly, I think Asagi might have a little something over Gackt. I won't say anything out of fear of being flamed out of existince but... =*_*= Besides, a band with my name initial and my favorite letter (because my favorite foods, words, names, game all begin with the letter D), it's a match made in Heaven. <33333

ANYWAY

That's my LJ update for a while unless I feel compelled to update again. This one is for you Elly! D has been my summer besides sleeping and staying up late and working on my first short story (only 26 chapters 0.0) and playing Animamundi and DMC3 a lot. LOL.

Ja ne!

5:24pm: Never Die (Birthday + Con Updates)
WAIIII! I'm 18 now! *feels so old*

Anyway, my Birthday was great. Everything ended up working out perfectly. I'm still celebrating by the way since I didn't go to Katsucon this year, I decided to celebrate for 18 days afterwards. Anyway, on my birthday (the 25 February) it snowed! It was so pretty. That was best present ever! XD My dad gave me a $100 Visa Debt card too. That was great. Unfortunately, because of the snow, I couldn't go out shopping that day. Instead, I had an unexpected cosplay photoshoot. I finally got to wear my Kadaj costume as Kadaj and not as Yazoo. Plus my Souba got its first taste of official cosplay action in the snow. I also took a bunch of head shots and stuff and I'll be uploading most of those to my deviantart and cosplay.com accounts. ^^

That night, at the last minute, Elly was able to come with me to dinner. We went to The Melting Pot in N.W. Washington, D.C. It's a fondue resturant. OMG, the food there was soooooo delicious. At first, it looked like it was going to be a lot to eat but once you get chowing down, it's great. We started off with the cheddar cheese fondue, which as Elly describes, is absolutely orgasmic. XD Cheese and apples go very good together. Then we had salads. Me and Elly had a California salad with raspberry dressing. Oishii! Then came the entree. Again, me and Elly shared a Pacific Rim dish that chicken, steak, duck, pot stickers and something else. The pot stickers just wouldn't hold up in the fondue pot and we literally had to fish them out! The shrimp was really good too. My mom had a Louisiana dish but I forgot the name of it. Her stuff was spicy but it was good as well. Finally, you would think we would be full from all that food. Elly was about to pass out. Yet, when desert came... yeah. We had Yin/Yang chocolate fondue. That's white and dark chocolate and it came in the shape of the yin/yang symbol too. That was so cool. Elly nearly died in bliss. While eating it, we started pretending like we were on Iron Chef. XD

That was really good, plus I got a balloon, a teddy bear, and chocolate from the resturant as well. ^^ As for other gifts recieved that day: sake, a silk kimono robe from my mom and a new printer/copier/scanner from my brother. Yes... I HAVE A FRIGGIN' SCANNER NOW! W00T! =^_^=

Then just last weekend, I got to do my birthday shopping. I made a bust. Near $80 of stuff from Bath and Body Works (most of which was on sale in the first place) and I practically raided Suncoast. I got:
- The Prestige DVD
- Outlaw Star Complete Collection *huggles*
- Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Deluxe Limited Edition (or whatever its called)
- Le Chevalier D'Eon Vol 1.
- Trinity Blood Vol. 4
- Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig Limited Edition Vol. 3
- Appleseed DVD
- Naraku Statue (so graceful. =^^=)
- Kingdom Hearts II Cloud Strife Figurine
- Strawberry Ramune

Then I brought something from the Cinnabon (Tsuzuki would kill me ^_~) Finally, we stopped at Borders on the way back. I brought this GINORMOUS Vampire Hunter D artbook, the Murata Range Color Form Code (?) artbook/comic, Trinity Blood Vol. 1 and Loveless Vol. 4 My mom brought "Perfect Blue" stating we HAD TO HAVE IT IN OUR COLLECTION. Who am I to argue with another otaku???

So that was my birthday. I guess the fun continues because we just registered for Anime Mid-Atlantic in June! YAY! I won't go con-less this summer afterall! W00T! Plus, I'm getting ready to order my costume and stuff for the Cherry Blossom Festival next month. I'm doing my first gothic lolita costume, more specifically, walolita! Yay! I'll keep you updated.

Okay, that's all I have to say for now. I'm about to work on some more drawings for my beloved story. Power to the vampires!

PS: I told you I was going to put Axel up didn't I?? XD

10:13am: Tanjobi!
My birthday is coming up! I'm so excited. I'll be 18 at last! All your yaoi belongs to me now! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Just kidding. Anyway, for my b-day, I plan on going to The Melting Pot, a fondue place. It's really expensive but I've always wanted to do fondue so <3 Other than that, I'm going on a shopping spree and if I can pull it off, I'm cosplaying as Tsuzuki from Yami no Matsuei!!!

So yeah. I'm still working on updating this journal and I might change it to Axel from Kingdom Hearts II on my b-day so we'll just have to wait and see huh?

Also, I know I've said this before but this time it might really happen. I might start hosting MP3s. Okay. I'm done. This is the first time I've updated this journal since OTAKON of last year. Amazing, ne?

11:05pm: Otakon is Coming!
Yay! Otakon is almost here I'm so excited! Yoshiki is coming! 0____0 OMG!!! And Nobuteru Yuuki is going to be there too!!! X3 SQUUUEEEEEEEE. I also have an awesome and large cosplay line up this year. It it is:

Kenshin Himura of Rurouni Kenshin (OVA, Manga and TV versions)
Kamiya Kaoru of Rurouni Kenshin (Dojo outfit)
The Rose Bride of Revolutionary Girl Utena (Luxury Illustrations Version)
Reno & Yazoo of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Tsuzuki Asato of Yami no Matsuei [Descendents of Darknes] (Devil's Trill Arc Tsuzuki)

Yay! I'm just waiting for Yazoo's boots to arrive and my Kenshin and Kaoru costumes. Other than that I've been working on a massive drawing project for my story and now since its done, well, I don't know what to do with myself. XD I have to pen all 30+ pics and prep some of them for digi coloring while coloring in the rest normally. Since they're so big, they all are going to have some digi work on them but some just have to be done completely on the computer. That's going to be a task. But I guess this means I can finally go back to doing fan-art. I owe some people some pictures so its about time to once and for all get those done.

What else. Found a lot of cool community of LJ while exploring this past weekend. I've been on a NeoRomance kick especially Angelique and *fangirls* ARIOS!!! *huggles* I also won an art contest ^__^ but basically, I've been gearing up for Otakon. Yoshiki-sama and Yuuki-sensei. EEEE! I was mad when AX announced Atsuko Nakajima and CLAMP for guests (my two favoritest manga-ka's) but I was THRILLED when I found out Otakon had Yuuki-sensei. If you're wondering, he's the genious character designer behind HEAT GUY J and ESCAFLOWNE the MOVIE and he worked on X. ^_________^ Plus... YOSHIKI!!! He like is the god of Visual-Kei and J-Rock and this is his first con appearence in the states. So yay us at Otakon! If only we could get some love for that... everyone is still talking about AX this and AX that. Not bashing or anything, I know AX is an exciting con and all but (seeing as how there's always competition between the west coast's AX and east coast's Otakon) we need love too. We've got Yoshiki!! Okay let me stop doting.

Wow this is the longest post on here I've made so far. hahaahaha. And this is full of random stuff. Oh well. See you guys later!

12:43pm: Test Taking al Strangio
Today we took a test in AP US History. We all wanted to pass. It was a long and hard test and we were running out of time. When the bell rung for us to go to our next class, we all just sat there. We started laughing but continued to do our work. So when the next class came in, we all got shoved on the floor. XD That's right, the entire class of 15 finished our test on the freaking floor!!! It was funny has heck. Then the regular teacher in the class, was teaching his class while we trying to finish and we where all throwing imaginary Kikyo sacred arrows and African blow darts at him and everything while making strange faces behind his back. We finished our test, an hour later, but the entire time we were on the floor... doing our final!!! Now there's no more school. After last period.... anyyway... XD

5:24pm: Hirasawa Susumu
I totally love his music. Last night and searched the Internet for some and I found a few things and downloaded basically the entire Paranoia Agent Soundtrack and the unreleased OST too. His music is so soothing and smooth and I love his voice. My favorite song so far is "Big Brother". That Song rocks. I can't describe it. Don't think me weird but it remind me of a sensual night... you know doing things with the one you love =^_^=

Anyway, I found this other cool LJ in my search but I don't remember the title. When I go home, I'll update this post with it. Oh yeah, I'm at school right now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Later.
